Mississauga erases deficit to stun Toronto Patriots, 5-4

The Toronto Patriots Patriots could not hold down the Mississauga Chargers, and Chargers erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 5-4 win.

Mississauga never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Chargers trailed 4-2 after a goal by Toronto Patriots' Jeremy Pullara at 18:21 in the second period. Mississauga tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kevin Bray at 8:28 in the third period. The Chargers got the game winner at 19:28 in the third period on a goal by Bray.

Scott Docherty was all over the ice for Mississauga, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Docherty scored the first of his two goals at 17:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bray picked up the assist. Docherty's next tally made the score 5-4 Mississauga with 32 seconds left in the third period. Daniel Pereira assisted on the tally.

The Chargers stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississauga kept Toronto Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean OReilly made 37 saves on 42 shots. The Chargers' goal total was higher than their season average. Mississauga averages 2.6 goals per game.

Mississauga additionally got points from Pereira, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Bray, who also registered one goal and three assists, and Aidan Parker, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Mike Choma and Kyler Matthews, who each chipped in one.

The Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Mississauga power plays. The Chargers were unable to stop Toronto Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and the Patriots eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Toronto Patriots also got points from Jake Harris, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Toronto Patriots included Jason DiPerna and Jordan Anderson, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Patriots came via Louis DiMatteo, who had two and Daniel Barnes, Mario Ferraro, Lee Lapid, Rudi Ying, and Nick Stuckless, who contributed one each.

Tyler Richardson rejected 37 shots on goal for Mississauga. The Chargers ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Mississauga, Pereira was ejected from the game. Toronto Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
