Early goals doom Milton, falls to Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 10-5

A four-goal first period deficit cost the Milton Icehawks, which could not recover and fell to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, 10-5.

Connor Beck was all over the ice for Toronto Jr. Canadiens, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Beck scored the first of his two goals at 3:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Michael Siddall picked up the assist. Beck's next tally made the score 10-5 Toronto Jr. Canadiens with 10:15 left in the third period. The Junior Canadiens had gotten the advantage when Milton's Jeff Lindsay was sent off for cross checking. Nicholas Ursitti provided the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced the Icehawks' goaltenders to work in net, taking 46 shots and forcing 36 saves. Jakob DeVincentis made 10 stops and Anthony Coletta made 26. The Junior Canadiens' goal total was higher than their season average. Toronto Jr. Canadiens averages 3.3 goals per game.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Ursitti, who also had one goal and two assists, Adam DeLuca, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Siddall, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Nicholas Jarzabek, who also registered one goal and one assist, and David Zeppieri, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Matthew Ferrari and Anthony Trujillo, who scored one goal each. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Andrew Pucci, who had three, Andrew Mullen and Gianfranco Cassaro, who contributed one each, and Cody Symonds and Nico Gonzalez, who each chipped in two.

Milton kept the Junior Canadiens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brendan Bonello made 35 saves on 40 shots. The Icehawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Milton has scored at the pace of 1.9 goal per game during the current campaign.

The Icehawks were helped by Justin Whetham, who had one goal. Whetham scored 5:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Devin Pierce picked up the assist. Milton additionally got points from Ryan Ngan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Milton included Anthony Filoso, Drew Nesbitt, and Graeme MacLean, who each put in one. In addition, Milton received assists from Michael Vitro, who had two and William Santangeli and Tyler Longo, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Milton incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
