Trenton outlasts Lindsay, 4-2Duncan Memorial Wed, Feb 03, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Trenton Golden Hawks escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Lindsay Muskies. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Hunter Fargey's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. Trenton was paced by Matt Tedford, who grabbed one goal. Tedford scored 18:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Chays Ruddy provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 12:32 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts. The Golden Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Trenton also got points from Mitch Emerson, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Danny Hanlon, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Fargey, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Trenton came via Blayne Oliver, Jordan DaSilva, and Josh Allan, who each chipped in one. Lindsay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Trenton power plays. The Muskies found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against Trenton's defense. Lindsay was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled seven minors and one major for 19 minutes in penalty time. The Muskies were helped by Nick Isaacson, who had one goal. Isaacson scored 11:14 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Trenton. Cedric Ralph assisted on the tally. Lindsay also got a goal from James Allen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Josh Wainman, Cole Robbins, and Brock Traill, who contributed one each. The Golden Hawks' Daniel Urbani stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that he faced. Trenton ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For the Golden Hawks, Kevin Lavoie was ejected from the game. Sean Green recorded 22 saves for Lindsay. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hunter Hotrum was ejected from the game.
