The game between the Burlington Cougars and the St. Michaels Buzzers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Burlington emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Willy Paul secured the win for the Cougars with a goal in the second period.

Burlington was led by Zac Herrmann, who registered one goal and one assist. Herrmann scored 13:21 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Burlington. Ben Morris assisted on the tally.

The Cougars forced St. Michaels goalie Jacob McGrath to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Burlington's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Buzzers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

St. Michaels was helped by Cameron Searles, who had one goal. Searles scored 6:01 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nick Pryce picked up the assist. St. Michaels additionally got points from Noah Jordan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Thomas Beretta also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Michael Andlauer, who had two and Anthony Paveglio and Cameron Wright, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Lee recorded 22 saves for the Cougars. Burlington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. McGrath rejected 34 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Luke Branco was ejected from the game.
