Trenton survives Georgetown comeback, wins 3-2

The Trenton Golden Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Georgetown Raiders on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Ben Scheel put Trenton up 3-0 in the second period, but Georgetown pulled to within one on Daniel Hardie's tally 18:48 into the third period.

The Raiders' power play was ineffective against the Golden Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Trenton struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

The Golden Hawks were helped by Danny Hanlon, who had one goal. Hanlon scored 2:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Jordan DaSilva provided the assist. Trenton additionally got points from DaSilva, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Trenton came via Curtis Harvey, who had two and Nick Boddy, Josh Allan, and Hunter Fargey, who each chipped in one.

Georgetown's offense rang up 42 shots on Trenton's net.

The Raiders were helped by Andrew Court, who registered one goal. Court scored on the power play 8:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Georgetown had gained a power play chance when Mac Lewis was whistled for roughing. Jake Payette picked up the assist. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Ashur Elliot, who had one and Jack Jacome, who had two.

Daniel Urbani made 40 saves for the Golden Hawks on 42 shots. Trenton registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Raiders' Andrew Masters stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Georgetown incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
