Owen Ramsay racked up one point to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 5-1 victory over the Pickering Panthers.

Newmarket also got points from Max Routledge, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mark Rozanov also scored for Newmarket. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Ryan Young, who had three and Alex Ierullo, Christian Dedonato, Marco Bozzo, Christian Cella, Blake Coffey, and Marty Lawlor, who each chipped in one.

Pickering's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Newmarket power plays.

The Panthers were led by Tiger McDonald, who scored the team's only goal. McDonald scored 1:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pickering. Kyle Gentles picked up the assist.

Dalton Ewing made 20 saves for Newmarket on 21 shots. The Hurricanes incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mathew Woroniuk recorded 22 saves for Pickering. The Panthers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
