Kingston downs Markham in overtime, 5-4 (OT)INVISTA Center Thu, Jan 28, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Connor Cobbold gave the Kingston Voyageurs a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Markham Royals when he scored 1:48 into the extra period. Jacob Hanlon had two goals and one assist to lead Kingston. Hanlon scored the first of his two goals at 3:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Jakob Brahaney assisted on the tally. Hanlon's next tally made the score 3-3 with 14:36 left in the second period. Josh Hardiman picked up the assist. The Voyageurs forced Markham goalie Marcus Semiao to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. Kingston additionally got points from Anthony Rinaldi, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Jack Zielinski also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Zachary Emelifeonwu, Reid Russell, and Brandon Nadeau, who contributed one each. The Royals kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Richer made 29 saves on 33 shots. Markham was helped by Hudson Michaelis, who grabbed one goal. Michaelis scored on the power play 8:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Markham. Aaron Spivak provided the assist. Markham also had goals scored by Brett Markham, Lucas Condotta, and Laine McKay, who scored one goal each. In addition, Markham received assists from Brendan Valko, Matthew Dunlop, Jeff Joynt, Brandon Washer, and Rylee St. Onge, who each chipped in one. The Voyageurs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Semiao recorded 45 saves for the Royals. Markham incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
