Georgetown blows out Mississauga, 6-1

The Georgetown Raiders had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Mississauga Chargers.

Georgetown was led by Ashur Elliot, who registered one goal and one assist. Elliot scored 5:45 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Daniel Hardie picked up the assist.

The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Mississauga was unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Georgetown surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Raiders average 3.8 goals per contest.

Georgetown additionally got points from Hardie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Arran MacDonald, Jordan Crocker, Josh Dickinson, and Andrew Court, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Ryan Takamatsu, who had two and Wyatt Hicken, Michael Boushy, Zack Dybowski, Austin Cho, Jack Jacome, Kyle Allan, and Matthew Cairns, who each chipped in one.

Georgetown's defense shut down the Chargers' forwards for much of the game, and Mississauga got off only 14 shots during the contest.

The Chargers were led by Cole Resnick, who scored the team's only goal. Resnick scored 2:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mike Tropea provided the assist.

Billy Day made 13 saves for the Raiders on 14 shots. Georgetown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mississauga's Andrew Cipollone stopped 27 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Chargers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
