The Wellington Dukes' Luc Brown scored 4:34 into overtime to beat the Trenton Golden Hawks, 4-3 (OT). Although Wellington was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Trenton kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Golden Hawks pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Liam Morgan at 6:05 in the third period. Tyler Burnie had two goals to lead the Dukes to victory. Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Dukes' offense rang up 33 shots on Trenton's net. Wellington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Wellington also got points from Brown, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ben Sokay, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Wellington came via Carter Allen, Nicolas Mucci, and Jacob Panetta, who each chipped in one. The Golden Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wellington power plays. The Dukes were unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Trenton's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. The Golden Hawks average 1.9 goal allowed per game. Trenton was led by Kevin Lavoie, who finished with one goal and one assist. Lavoie scored 18:02 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Morgan picked up the assist. Trenton additionally got points from Morgan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Trenton also got a goal from Mitch Emerson as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Brandon Marinelli, Jordan Chard, Blayne Oliver, and Jordan DaSilva, who contributed one each. Olivier Lafreniere recorded 33 saves for Wellington. For the Dukes, Shaw Boomhower was ejected from the game. The Golden Hawks' Jackson McIntosh stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Trenton incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
