Markham beats Lindsay 3-1 after comeback scareLindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Jan 22, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Markham Royals survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lindsay Muskies on the way to a 3-1 win. Markham made the score 3-0 on a goal by Marco Azzano at 5:09 in the third period, and Lindsay got as close as 3-1 when Cole Robbins scored 17:00 into the third period. The Royals were led by Brendan Valko, who registered one goal. Valko scored 1:22 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Markham. Trevor Abbot picked up the assist. Markham kept the Muskies' goalie busy throughout the game, and Graham Dynes made 38 saves on 41 shots. In addition, Markham received assists from Rylee St. Onge and Tyson Bruce, who contributed one each. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Brock Traill, who had one. Marcus Semiao made 20 saves for the Royals on 21 shots. Markham incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lindsay totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Lamport was ejected from the game. |
