Kingston wins tough contest against Stouffville, 3-2

The game between the Kingston Voyageurs and the Stouffville Spirit was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kingston emerged with a 3-2 win.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ian Harris at 16:22 of the third period.

The Voyageurs were paced by Harris, who had one goal.

In a losing effort, Stouffville was led by Sam Hu, who registered two goals. Hu scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:20 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A high sticking penalty on Cole Beckstead had put the Spirit on the power play. Christopher Brill-Morgan provided the assist. Hu's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 30 seconds left in the second period. Stouffville had gotten the advantage when Kingston's Matthew Lourenco was sent off for slashing. Spencer Roberts assisted on the tally.

The Voyageurs' offense rang up 39 shots on the Spirit's net.

Kingston also got points from Josh Hardiman, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Connor Cobbold as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Jacob Hanlon, who had one and Colin Tonge, who had three.

Stouffville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kingston power plays. The Spirit kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach Springer made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Voyageurs incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kingston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Reed Kekewich was ejected from the game. Aaron Taylor made 36 saves for Stouffville on 39 shots. The Spirit incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
