Georgetown downs Toronto Jr. Canadiens in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Georgetown Raiders pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens on a clutch goal by Jack Jacome.

Georgetown got the win thanks to a great game by Ryan Takamatsu, who had two goals and one assist. Takamatsu scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:14 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Michael Siddall was put in the box for boarding. Matthew Cairns provided the assist. Takamatsu's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Georgetown with 10:05 left in the third period. A cross checking penalty on Siddall had put Georgetown on the power play. Jake Payette picked up the assist.

The Raiders stifled Toronto Jr. Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown kept the Junior Canadiens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Lopapa made 42 saves on 46 shots.

Georgetown also got points from Jacome, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Jordan Crocker as well. More assists for Georgetown came via Austin Cho, Brendan Jacome, Josh Dickinson, and Andrew Court, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced the Raiders goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

The Junior Canadiens were helped by Nico Gonzalez, who racked up one goal. Gonzalez scored 5:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Siddall assisted on the tally. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Cody Symonds and Nicholas Ursitti, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Gianfranco Cassaro and Sal Filice, who each chipped in one.

Masters rejected 44 shots on goal for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
