Toronto Jr. Canadiens outlasts Wellington, 5-3

The game between the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens and the Wellington Dukes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Toronto Jr. Canadiens emerged with a 5-3 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nico Gonzalez at 14:15 of the third period.

Nicholas Ursitti was all over the ice for the Junior Canadiens, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Ursitti scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 28 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Michael Siddall provided the assist. Ursitti's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Toronto Jr. Canadiens with 1:05 left in the third period.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Wellington goalie Sam Tanguay to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Junior Canadiens did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Siddall, who also had one goal and one assist and Connor Beck, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Matthew Ferrari, Nicholas Jarzabek, and Troy Taylor, who each chipped in one.

The Dukes were led by Nicolas Mucci, who registered one goal and two assists. Mucci scored 5:02 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Burnie picked up the assist. Wellington additionally got points from Jacob Panetta, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Burnie, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Wellington received assists from Aiden Girduckis and Matt Adams, who contributed one each.

Daniel Lopapa recorded 21 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Wellington's Tanguay stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Dukes incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
