Toronto Jr. Canadiens beats St. Michaels 3-0 as Lopapa gains shutout

Daniel Lopapa was superb between the pipes for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Adam DeLuca, who registered one goal. DeLuca scored short handed 14:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens found themselves down a man on Connor Beck's high sticking. Anthony Trujillo picked up the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Michaels power plays. The Junior Canadiens' offense rang up 33 shots on St. Michaels' net.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens additionally got points from Trujillo, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. George Novachis also scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Andrew Mullen, Alex Lee, Sal Filice, and Lucas Colalillo, who contributed one each.

The Buzzers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toronto Jr. Canadiens to score on any of its three power plays. St. Michaels was held below its usual level of production. The Buzzers average 3.2 goals per game. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop St. Michaels from sending pucks towards the net, and the Buzzers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Lopapa rejected 37 shots on goal for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mark Manolescu recorded 30 saves for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
