Burlington falls to Toronto Patriots after surprising comeback

The Burlington Cougars could not hold down the Toronto Patriots Patriots, and Patriots erased a three-goal deficit en route to a 6-5 win.

Toronto Patriots never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Patriots trailed 5-2 after a goal by Burlington's Jordan Peacock at 8:14 in the second period. Toronto Patriots knotted things up at 6-6 on a goal by Stefano Alonzi at 19:51 in the third period. The Patriots netted the game winner at 18:41 in the third period on a goal by Alonzi.

Louis DiMatteo had a great game for Toronto Patriots, netting two goals.

The Patriots' offense rang up 42 shots on the Cougars' net. Toronto Patriots outdid its season average for goals scored. The Patriots average 3.2 goals per game. Toronto Patriots got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Toronto Patriots additionally got points from Michael Siddall, who also registered one goal and one assist. Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Jeremy Pullara as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Noah Robinson and Connor Beck, who each chipped in one and Mario Ferraro and Nicholas Ursitti, who contributed three each.

Anthony Baxter also scored for Burlington. More assists for Burlington came via Zac Herrmann, who had one and James McLaughlin, who had two.

Toronto Patriots incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Andrew Lee made 36 saves for the Cougars on 42 shots. Burlington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
