Aurora rips Lindsay, 8-1

The Aurora Tigers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Austin Gerhart quarterbacked Aurora's offense to perfection and bagged four assists in the Tigers' win over Lindsay.

Aurora forced the Muskies' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 51 shots and forcing 43 saves. Graham Dynes made 34 stops and Nick King made nine. The Tigers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Aurora averages 3.3 goals per contest. The Tigers cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. The defensemen of Aurora were also effective in Lindsay's zone, and came away with two goals.

Aurora also got points from JD Falconer, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Kyle Locke, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Daniel Mantenuto, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Drake Board, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Liam Neuman, who also had one goal and one assist. Aurora also had goals scored by Evan Kearns and Liam Ham, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Ryan Shaw, who had two and Noah Delmas and Nicholas Turenko, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies were led by Cameron Harris, who scored the team's only goal. Harris scored 13:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jeff Christensen provided the assist.

Joshua Boyko made 19 saves for the Tigers on 20 shots. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
