Trenton holds on for 4-2 win against MarkhamMarkham Centennial Centre Fri, Jan 08, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Markham Royals tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Trenton Golden Hawks held on for a 4-2 victory. Trenton took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Markham storm back on a Brendan Valko goal 6:07 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Golden Hawks were sparked by Lucas Brown, who grabbed one goal. Brown scored 9:21 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Liam Morgan provided the assist. Trenton also got points from Morgan, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Danny Hanlon, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Curtis Harvey also scored for Trenton. More assists for Trenton came via Kevin Lavoie, who had two and Adam Clements, Jordan DaSilva, and Josh Allan, who each chipped in one. The Royals forced Trenton goalie Daniel Urbani to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Markham was helped by Sean Perichak, who registered one goal. Perichak scored 8:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Tyson Bruce picked up the assist. In addition, Markham received assists from Aaron Spivak, Hudson Michaelis, and Marco Azzano, who contributed one each. Urbani rejected 43 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Marcus Semiao made 26 saves for the Royals on 30 shots. Markham incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
