Hudgin leads Stouffville over Kingston, 6-4

Nathan Hudgin had two goals and two assists to lead the Stouffville Spirit to a 6-4 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs.

Hudgin found the back of the net 19:34 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Stouffville and again while 19:52 into the third to make the score 6-4 Stouffville.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:37 into the second period. Six fighting penalties were dished out along with four game misconducts.

Stouffville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kingston power plays. The Spirit forced Kingston goalie Zach Springer to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Stouffville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Spirit average 3.3 goals per contest.

Stouffville additionally got points from Sam Hu, who also registered one goal and two assists and Christopher Brill-Morgan, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Stouffville included Chad Burrows and Connor Evans, who scored one goal each. More assists for Stouffville came via Ryan DaSilva, who had two and Max Novick and Cameron Lintner, who contributed one each.

The Voyageurs' offense rang up 38 shots on Stouffville's net. Kingston struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Spirit to score two power play goals on three chances.

The Voyageurs were helped by Brandon Nadeau, who finished with one goal. Nadeau scored 16:18 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Stouffville. Connor Cobbold picked up the assist. Kingston also got points from Josh Hardiman, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Danny Bosio, who also registered one goal and one assist. Colin Tonge also scored for Kingston. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Anthony Rinaldi, who had two and Jacob Hanlon, Reed Kekewich, and Jakob Brahaney, who each chipped in one.

Aaron Taylor recorded 34 saves for Stouffville. The Spirit ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For Stouffville, Kyle Linney and Justin Mahabir were ejected from the contest. Kingston's Springer stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Voyageurs ended with 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors. Team's Zachary Emelifeonwu and Connor Bebb were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
