Toronto Patriots beats Orangeville 5-2 as Siddall gets hat trick

A hat trick by Michael Siddall was the highlight in Patriots' 5-2 win against the Orangeville Flyers.

Siddall got on the scoresheet 4:21 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:30 into the second and at 15:50 into the third.

The Toronto Patriots Patriots' penalty kill excelled, as Toronto Patriots gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Patriots forced Flyers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Kasimir Krol made 19 stops and Nicholas Latinovich made 16.

Others who scored for Toronto Patriots included Connor Beck and Nick Stuckless, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Patriots came via Logan Blaser, who had two and Daniel Barnes, Jake Harris, Noah Robinson, Colton Kalezic, and Jeremy Pullara, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville forced Toronto Patriots' netminders to work between the pipes, getting 38 shots and forcing 36 saves. Sean OReilly made 14 stops and Jacob Standen made 22. The Flyers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Orangeville finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Flyers were helped by Zack Lyons, who racked up one goal. Lyons scored on the power play 16:37 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Toronto Patriots. Orangeville had gained a power play chance when Louis DiMatteo was whistled for tripping. Ryan Barbosa assisted on the tally. Orangeville also got a goal from Liam Winslow as well. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Josh DeFarias and Callum Cusinato, who contributed one each.

The Patriots incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
