Georgetown rolls over Mississauga, 5-1Alcott Wed, Jan 06, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgetown Raiders were firing on all cylinders against the Mississauga Chargers, and when the final buzzer sounded Raiders emerged with a 5-1 win. Georgetown was led by goalie Billy Day, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Day certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.51 entering the contest. The Raiders were led by Ashur Elliot, who tallied one goal. Elliot scored 13:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Josh Dickinson provided the assist. Georgetown forced Mississauga goalie Andrew Cipollone to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. Georgetown additionally got points from Jack Jacome, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Georgetown also had goals scored by Jordan Crocker, Austin Cho, and Andrew Court, who scored one goal each. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Matthew Thom and Matthew Cairns, who contributed one each and Bailey Molella and Brendan Jacome, who each chipped in two. The Chargers were led by Aidan Parker, who scored the team's only goal. Parker scored on the power play 2:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Mississauga earned a power play opportunity when Jacome was put in the box for too many men. Mike Choma picked up the assist. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Chargers' Cipollone stopped 45 shots out of the 50 that he faced. Mississauga incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
