Toronto Jr. Canadiens rips Milton, 9-2

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens were firing on all cylinders against the Milton Icehawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Junior Canadiens emerged with a 9-2 win.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens got the win behind a great game by George Novachis, who had one goal and two assists. Novachis scored 5:20 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Andrew Mullen provided the assist.

The Junior Canadiens forced Icehawks' goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 39 shots and forcing 30 saves. Jakob DeVincentis made 28 stops and Anthony Coletta made two. Toronto Jr. Canadiens surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Junior Canadiens average 3.2 goals per game. Toronto Jr. Canadiens got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Lee Lapid, who also had one goal and one assist, Alex Lee, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Gianfranco Cassaro, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Lucas Colalillo, who had two and Carmine Alberga, Sal Filice, and Eric Eremita, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Cody Symonds, who had one, Matthew Ferrari, who had two, and Jake Joffe, who had three.

Milton was led by Devin Pierce, who tallied one goal and one assist. Pierce scored 4:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Ryan Ngan assisted on the tally. Anthony Filoso also scored for Milton. More assists for Milton came via William Santangeli, who had one.

Brendan Bonello made 26 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 28 shots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Junior Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Adam DeLuca was ejected from the game. The Icehawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
