Burlington downs Orangeville, 7-3

Chris Cobham had two points to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 7-3 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

In the losing effort, Orangeville was paced by Kosta Likourezos, who registered two goals. Likourezos scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Burlington. The Flyers had gotten the advantage when Burlington's Jordan Peacock was sent off for cross checking. Josh DeFarias picked up the assist. Likourezos' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Burlington with 12:32 left in the second period. Orangeville had taken the advantage when the Cougars' Peacock got sent off for hooking. DeFarias assisted on the tally.

Burlington's offense rang up 38 shots on the Flyers' net. The Cougars' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Burlington averages 4.3 goals per contest. The defensemen of the Cougars were also effective in Orangeville's zone, and came away with two goals. Burlington was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 38 penalty minutes.

Burlington also got points from Kevin Dimagno, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, James McLaughlin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Tyler Riter, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Burlington also had goals scored by Zac Herrmann, Zack Elson, and Ben Morris, who each put in one. In addition, Burlington received assists from Matt Holmes, who had two and David Thomson, Philip Lagunov, Nathan Gomes, and Stefano Alonzi, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers forced the Cougars goalie Andrew Lee to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Orangeville additionally got points from Jack Jeffers, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Orangeville came via Lucas Smilsky, who had one.

Lee rejected 28 shots on goal for Burlington. The Cougars registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Orangeville's Nicholas Latinovich stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
