Kingston downs Newmarket, 5-2

Jacob Hanlon had one point to lead the Kingston Voyageurs to a 5-2 victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes.

Newmarket was unable to stop Kingston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Voyageurs eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Kingston's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Kingston additionally got points from Colin Tonge, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Connor Bebb, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Matthew Lourenco also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Brandon Nadeau, who had two and Nick Schantz, Josh Hardiman, Zachary Emelifeonwu, Anthony Rinaldi, and Jack Zielinski, who each chipped in one.

The Hurricanes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Newmarket was helped by Steve Mariani, who registered one goal. Mariani scored 16:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Newmarket. Mark Rozanov assisted on the tally. Newmarket also got a goal from Marty Lawlor as well. More assists for Newmarket came via Mitchell Duggan, Christian Dedonato, and Todd Winder, who contributed one each.

David Richer recorded 23 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hurricanes' Dalton Ewing stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Newmarket incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
