Behind a great game by Luc Brown, who had four goals and one assist, the Wellington Dukes defeated the Stouffville Spirit, 6-2. Brown's first goal came 9:03 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:42 into the third, at 10:09 into the third, and at 13:54 into the third.Wellington forced Stouffville goalie Conor McCollum to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. The Dukes surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Wellington averages 3.5 goals per game. The Dukes struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays. Wellington also got points from Jacob Panetta, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Wellington also got a goal from Shaw Boomhower as well. More assists for Wellington came via Justin Bean, who had two, Dylan Mascarin, who had four, and Austin Labelle and Ben Sokay, who contributed one each. The Spirit could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Stouffville was helped by Chad Burrows, who had one goal. Burrows scored 12:57 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Wellington. Nathan Hudgin picked up the assist. Sam Hu also scored for Stouffville. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Christopher Brill-Morgan, who had one. Anthony Popovich made 16 saves for Wellington on 18 shots. The Dukes registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. The Spirit's McCollum stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced.
