Cobourg downs St. Michaels, 2-1

Mac Lowry racked up one point to lead the Cobourg Cougars to a 2-1 victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Cobourg also got a goal from Brenden Locke as well. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Rory Milne, Russell Nowry, Brennan Roy, and Ryan Casselman, who contributed one each.

St. Michaels managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Buzzers ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Michaels did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Buzzers average 3.2 goals per game.

St. Michaels was led by Cameron Wright, who scored the team's only goal. Wright scored on the power play 10:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Patrick MacDonald had put the Buzzers on the power play. Brad Cocca picked up the assist.

Tyler Lewis made 19 saves for Cobourg on 20 shots. The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mark Manolescu rejected 27 shots on goal for St. Michaels. The Buzzers registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
