Newmarket downs Lindsay in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Newmarket Hurricanes' Todd Winder scored 4:05 into overtime to beat the Lindsay Muskies, 4-3 (OT).

Newmarket got the win behind a great game by Winder, who had one goal and two assists.

The Hurricanes forced Lindsay goalie Sean Green to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Newmarket additionally got points from Mark Rozanov, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Newmarket also had goals scored by Alex Ierullo and Roberto Orlando, who each put in one. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Nick Kalpousos, Christian Dedonato, Marco Bozzo, Ryan Young, and Jonathan Colley, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies kept Newmarket's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Ryckman made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Lindsay was helped by Brock Traill, who had one goal. Traill scored 8:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Newmarket. Cedric Ralph provided the assist. Lindsay also got points from Ralph, who also registered one goal and one assist. Owen Barnett also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Nick Isaacson, who had two and James Allen and Zach Treen, who contributed one each.

The Hurricanes incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Sean Green made 33 saves for the Muskies on 37 shots. Lindsay incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
