Peacock nets hat trick, leads Burlington to 6-3 win over Milton

The Milton Icehawks could not stop the Burlington Cougars' Jordan Peacock, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Peacock got on the scoresheet 9:04 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:36 into the second and at 19:39 into the third.

Burlington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes.

The Cougars stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Burlington's offense rang up 54 shots on the Icehawks' net.

Burlington additionally got points from David Thomson, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Burlington included Ben Morris and Dante Felicetti, who scored one goal each. In addition, Burlington received assists from Nicholas Holt, Mike Faliero, and Chris Cobham, who each chipped in one and Zac Herrmann, Kevin Dimagno, and Nathan Gomes, who contributed two each.

The Cougars were unable to stop Milton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Icehawks eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Milton was helped by Sean Robertson, who racked up one goal. Robertson scored 1:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton. Andrew Petrucci picked up the assist. Milton also got points from Graeme MacLean, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Drew Nesbitt also scored for Milton. More assists for Milton came via Alejandro Maese, Tyler Longo, and Michael Vitro, who each chipped in one.

Burlington's Austin Washkurak stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Cougars registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Jakob DeVincentis recorded 48 saves for the Icehawks. Milton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
