Misley's goals lift Oakville to 7-4 victory over Toronto Jr. Canadiens

The Oakville Blades relied on the scoring touch of Bryce Misley, who netted two goals, to beat the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, 7-4.

Misley found the back of the net 1:19 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Oakville and again while on the power play 8:28 into the third to make the score 5-2 Oakville.

Oakville forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 45 minutes in penalty time. The Blades surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Oakville bested its season scoring average. The Blades average 4.1 goals per game.

Oakville additionally got points from Patrick Kudla, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Oliver Benwel, who also had one goal and one assist, Josh Kosack, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Drew Worrad, who also registered one goal and one assist. Peyton Reeves also scored for Oakville. More assists for Oakville came via Michael Mannara, Ryan Foss, Nicholas Alvaro, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one and Brendan Doherty and Tyler Rollo, who contributed two each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game the Junior Canadiens had been spending in the box. Toronto Jr. Canadiens' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Andrew Mullen, who tallied three goals and one assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got a goal from Anthony Trujillo as well. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Carmine Alberga, who had two and Gianfranco Cassaro and Nicholas Jarzabek, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn made 26 saves for Oakville on 30 shots. The Blades registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. Oakville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Reeves was ejected from the game. Brendan Bonello took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Jacob Tersigni who made zero saves. Toronto Jr. Canadiens registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. For the Junior Canadiens, Andrew Pucci and David Zeppieri were ejected from the contest.
