Kowalski stymies Toronto Patriots, Buffalo wins 4-1

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres relied on the sparkling performance of Brian Kowalski in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

Buffalo was led by Joshua Biasillo, who finished with one goal. Biasillo scored 8:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Buffalo. Dylan Seitz picked up the assist.

The Jr. Sabres kept Toronto Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Standen made 48 saves on 52 shots. Team could not crack the Patriots' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Buffalo also got points from Christopher Berger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Zach Evancho, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and David Baskerville, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Aaron Reinig, who had two.

Toronto Patriots' offense rang up 34 shots on Buffalo's net. The Patriots could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 54 minutes in penalties during the game.

Toronto Patriots was led by Michael Siddall, who scored the team's only goal. Siddall scored on the power play 3:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Patriots. The Patriots had gotten the advantage when the Jr. Sabres' Bryce Ferrell was sent off for checking from behind. Nicholas Ursitti provided the assist.

Brian Kowalski made 33 saves for Buffalo on 34 shots. The Jr. Sabres incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Buffalo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ferrell was ejected from the game. Toronto Patriots registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Patriots, Daniel Barnes was ejected from the game.
