Kingston blows out Stouffville, 8-4

The Kingston Voyageurs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-4 win over the Stouffville Spirit.

Anthony Rinaldi was all over the ice for Kingston, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Rinaldi scored 9:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jack Zielinski assisted on the tally.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill excelled, as Kingston gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

The Voyageurs forced Stouffville's goaltenders to work all game long, launching 39 shots and forcing 31 saves. Aaron Taylor made 18 stops and Kyle Pescador made 13. Kingston found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Voyageurs average 4.0 goals per game. Kingston took advantage of the Spirit's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. The Voyageurs were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 32 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Kingston included Mason Corliss and Brandon Nadeau, who scored two goals each and Jacob Hanlon, Colin Tonge, and Ian Harris, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Zachary Emelifeonwu, Connor Bebb, and Matthew Lourenco, who each chipped in one and Josh Hardiman and Tommy Abrams, who contributed two each.

Stouffville was helped by Spencer Roberts, who finished with one goal and one assist. Roberts scored 18:31 into the second period to make the score 6-4 Kingston. Jack Varga picked up the assist. Stouffville additionally got points from Varga, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Stouffville also had goals scored by Max Novick and Jackson Savery, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Alex Williamson and Ryan DaSilva, who each chipped in one and Chad Burrows and Connor Evans, who contributed two each.

Zach Springer recorded 22 saves for Kingston. The Spirit incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
