Markham downs Mississauga, 5-2

Joseph Teofilo registered one point to lead the Markham Royals to a 5-2 victory over the Mississauga Chargers.

Markham forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Markham additionally got points from Lucas Condotta, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Markham also had goals scored by Brendan Valko, Joel Knight, and Marco Azzano, who each put in one. In addition, Markham received assists from Cooper Hyman, who had two and Sean Perichak, Aaron Spivak, Trevor Abbot, Rylee St. Onge, and Hudson Michaelis, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Markham power plays. The Royals were unable to stop Mississauga from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chargers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Mississauga was led by Thomas Lattavo, who finished with one goal and one assist. Lattavo scored 17:57 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Markham. Brandon Yeamans picked up the assist. Francesco Luca also scored for Mississauga. More assists for Mississauga came via Stefano Alonzi and Aidan Parker, who contributed one each.

Marcus Semiao rejected 32 shots on goal for Markham. The Royals incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Chargers' Richardson stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Mississauga incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
