The Pickering Panthers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Wellington Dukes on the way to a 5-4 win. Pickering made the score 5-3 on a goal by Chris Sekelyk at 17:41 in the third period, and Wellington got as close as 5-4 when Luc Brown scored 19:44 into the third period. John Hudgin had a great game for the Panthers, netting two goals. Hudgin's tallies came on the power play at 17:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Pickering and 16:36 into the third to make the score 4-3 Pickering. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:23 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Pickering additionally got points from Sekelyk, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kennedy Duguid also scored for Pickering. In addition, Pickering received assists from Robert Clark, Doug Carter, and Kyler Challis, who each chipped in one. The Dukes kept Pickering's goalie busy throughout the game, and Troy Paquette made 30 saves on 34 shots. Wellington also got a goal from Jacob Hetherington as well. More assists for Wellington came via Jacob Panetta, who had two and Justin Bean, Nicolas Mucci, and Dylan Mascarin, who contributed one each. The Panthers totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Pickering ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Carter was ejected from the game. Wellington's Anthony Popovich stopped 24 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Dukes totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For Wellington, Shaw Boomhower was ejected from the game.
