Trenton survives Cobourg comeback, wins 3-1

The Trenton Golden Hawks, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Cobourg Cougars and clinched a 3-1 victory.

Trenton led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Golden Hawks' Mitch Emerson scored at 17:17 in the second period to put Trenton up 3-0.

The Golden Hawks were led by Ben Scheel, who grabbed one goal. Scheel scored 11:53 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Trenton. Josh Allan assisted on the tally.

Trenton also got a goal from Danny Hanlon as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Adam Clements, Keaton Ratcliffe, Jordan DaSilva, and Mac Lewis, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg was held below its usual level of production. The Cougars average 3.5 goals per game.

Cobourg was led by Brenden Locke, who scored the team's only goal. Locke scored 19:20 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Theo Lewis picked up the assist.

Daniel Urbani made 20 saves for Trenton on 21 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Lewis recorded 24 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
