Georgetown downs Burlington, 5-2

Jack Jacome grabbed two points to lead the Georgetown Raiders to a 5-2 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

Georgetown forced Burlington's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 36 shots and forcing 31 saves. Andrew Lee made eight stops and Austin Washkurak made 23. The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Cougars to score on any of their three power plays.

Georgetown also got points from Brendan Jacome, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Georgetown included Arran MacDonald, Daniel Hardie, and Andrew Court, who scored one goal each. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Wyatt Hicken, Jake Payette, Bailey Molella, Zack Dybowski, Ashur Elliot, Austin Cho, Josh Dickinson, and Matthew Cairns, who contributed one each.

Burlington was held below its usual level of production. The Cougars put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

Burlington was helped by Jordan Peacock, who registered one goal. Peacock scored 16:35 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Georgetown. Zack Elson provided the assist. Jack Jeffers also scored for Burlington. More assists for Burlington came via Nicholas Holt, who had one and Ben Morris, who had two.

Andrew Masters made 27 saves for Georgetown on 29 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cougars incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
