Manolescu stymies Mississauga, St. Michaels wins 5-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Mark Manolescu helped the St. Michaels Buzzers defeat the Mississauga Chargers, 5-1.

St. Michaels was paced by Cameron Searles, who finished with one goal. Searles scored 12:40 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Michaels. Colton Trumbla picked up the assist.

The Buzzers stifled Mississauga's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Michaels forced the Chargers goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Noah Jordan, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for St. Michaels included Thomas Beretta, Sean Kohler, and Finn Evans, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were A.J. Dorazio, who had two and Mark Paolini, Lucas Derose, Mitchell Devins-Cann, and Cameron Wright, who contributed one each.

Mississauga excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Chargers were led by Brandon Yeamans, who scored the team's only goal. Yeamans scored 10:42 into the third period to make the score 4-1 St. Michaels. Stefano Alonzi provided the assist.

Manolescu rejected 27 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tyler Richardson made 44 saves for Mississauga on 49 shots. The Chargers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
