DaSilva's hat trick boosts Stouffville over Whitby, 6-3Stouffville Arena Sat, Nov 28, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Ryan DaSilva was the highlight in Spirit's 6-3 win against the Whitby Fury. DaSilva's first goal came 6:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:35 into the third and at 18:30 into the third.The Stouffville Spirit stifled Whitby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stouffville's offense rang up 33 shots on the Fury's net. The Spirit bested their season scoring average. Stouffville averages 2.9 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. Stouffville also got points from Jack Varga, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Christopher Brill-Morgan, who also had one goal and two assists. Stouffville also got a goal from Chad Burrows as well. More assists for Stouffville came via Alex Williamson and Kyle Thomas, who each chipped in one and Sam Hu, Spencer Roberts, and Nathan Hudgin, who contributed two each. Whitby was helped by Jonathan OHara, who registered one goal and one assist. OHara scored 6:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Steven Elliott assisted on the tally. Whitby additionally got points from Elliott, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Nik Coric also scored for Whitby. In addition, Whitby received assists from Jacob Durham, Ryan Taylor, and Jeffrey Gauld, who each chipped in one. The Spirit's Aaron Taylor stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Stouffville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Mannella rejected 27 shots on goal for the Fury. Whitby incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Fury, Ian McKinnon was ejected from the game.
