Aurora blows out Milton, 10-0

The Aurora Tigers were firing on all cylinders against the Milton Icehawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Tigers emerged with a 10-0 win.

Drake Board was all over the ice for Aurora, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Board scored 10:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Alex Boudreau assisted on the tally.

The Tigers' penalty kill excelled, as Aurora gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Tigers forced Milton's goaltenders to work without much rest, finishing with 52 shots and forcing 42 saves. Anthony Coletta made 32 stops and Jakob DeVincentis made 10. Aurora stifled the Icehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Tigers featured an improved defense during the game. Aurora allows 2.5 goals per game. The Tigers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Aurora averages 3.4 goals per contest. The Tigers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Aurora also got points from Kyle Locke, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Evan Kearns, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Daniel Mantenuto, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Keegan Matthew, who also had one goal and two assists, Nicholas Turenko, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ryan Shaw, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from James Thomson as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Nolan Dunn, who had one and Liam Ham and Liam Neuman, who contributed two each.

Milton struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Joshua Boyko rejected 20 shots on goal for Aurora. The Tigers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
