Kingston uses early goal to top St. Michaels, 4-2

The Kingston Voyageurs took the lead against the St. Michaels Buzzers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory.

Kingston took over the lead for good with a goal by Zachary Emelifeonwu at 15:48 in the first period. Connor Bebb picked up the assist.

The Voyageurs were led by Connor Cobbold, who registered one goal. Cobbold scored 7:16 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Reid Russell provided the assist.

Kingston forced St. Michaels goalie Mark Manolescu to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Kingston also got points from Bebb, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Brandon Nadeau as well. More assists for Kingston came via Josh Hardiman, who had two and Jacob Hanlon, Anthony Rinaldi, Jakob Brahaney, and Cole Beckstead, who contributed one each.

The Buzzers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Michaels ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Buzzers were helped by Cameron Wright, who racked up one goal. Wright scored 12:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cameron Searles picked up the assist. Brad Cocca also scored for St. Michaels. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Sam Hunter, who had one.

The Voyageurs' Zach Springer stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Kingston ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Manolescu rejected 40 shots on goal for St. Michaels. The Buzzers registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
