The Wellington Dukes beat the Aurora Tigers, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Wellington took over the lead for good with a goal by Luc Brown at 19:59 in the first period. Ben Sokay picked up the assist.Brown had two goals and one assist to lead the Dukes. Brown scored the first of his two goals at 18:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Mascarin assisted on the tally. Brown's next tally made the score 2-1 Wellington with one second1 seconds left in the first period. Sokay picked up the assist. Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Wellington additionally got points from Mascarin, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Aurora could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Tigers put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Aurora was led by Alex Formenton, who scored the team's only goal. Formenton scored 4:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Darren Iwai assisted on the tally. Olivier Lafreniere recorded 23 saves for the Dukes.
