Newmarket blows out Lindsay, 6-2

The Newmarket Hurricanes had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Newmarket was led by Max Routledge, who had one goal. Routledge scored 8:36 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Newmarket. Marco Bozzo picked up the assist.

The Hurricanes forced Lindsay goalie Boyd Diclemente to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Newmarket found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Hurricanes average 2.5 goals per contest.

Newmarket additionally got points from Curtis Harvey, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Mark Rozanov, who also registered one goal and one assist. Newmarket also had goals scored by Alex Ierullo, Ryan Young, and Todd Winder, who scored one goal each. More assists for Newmarket came via Christian Dedonato, who had two and Roberto Orlando and Marty Lawlor, who contributed one each.

The Muskies' offense rang up 32 shots on Newmarket's net.

Lindsay was led by Dayton Kent, who grabbed one goal. Kent scored 48 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Zach Treen provided the assist. Lindsay also got a goal from James Allen as well. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Cole Robbins, Stuart Fierheller, and Jeff Christensen, who each chipped in one.

Dalton Ewing rejected 30 shots on goal for the Hurricanes. Newmarket incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Boyd Diclemente made 40 saves for the Muskies on 46 shots. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
