Markham completes comeback, beats Lindsay, 4-3

The Markham Royals climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Lindsay Muskies, 4-3.

Markham let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Royals took a 3-2 advantage on a goal by Jeff Joynt at 8:44 in the third period. Markham went down 2-0 after Lindsay's Cameron Harris put the puck home at 13:10 in the second period. After knotting things up at 3-3 on a goal by Josh Wainman at 10:06 in the third, the Royals got the game-winner from Marco Azzano at 11:22 in the third period.

Joynt had two goals and one assist to lead Markham. Joynt scored the first of his two goals at 19:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Cameron Lamport assisted on the tally. Joynt's next tally made the score 3-2 Markham with 11:16 left in the third period. Nick Thomakos picked up the assist.

The Muskies were unable to stop the Royals from sending pucks towards the net, and Markham eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

Aaron Spivak also scored for Markham. Other players who recorded assists for Markham were Cooper Hyman, Brendan Valko, Rylee St. Onge, and Hudson Michaelis, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay was helped by Dayton Kent, who finished with one goal. Kent scored 5:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Wainman provided the assist. Lindsay also got points from Wainman, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Matt Tustin, who had two and Joshua Traynor, Stuart Fierheller, and Cedric Ralph, who contributed one each.

Nathan Colitto recorded 19 saves for the Royals. Markham incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Muskies' Graham Dynes stopped 48 shots out of the 52 that he faced. Lindsay incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
