Rozanov's hat trick boosts Newmarket over Mississauga, 7-2

Mark Rozanov netted a hat trick to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes over the Mississauga Chargers, 7-2.

Rozanov's first goal came 6:25 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:29 into the second and at 16:51 into the second.

Newmarket forced Mississauga's goalies to work all game long, taking 36 shots and forcing 29 saves. Tyler Richardson made 15 stops and Andrew Cipollone made 14. The Hurricanes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Newmarket surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Hurricanes have scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Newmarket additionally got points from Alex Ierullo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Marty Lawlor, who also had one goal and one assist. Newmarket also had goals scored by James Mense-Dietrich and Marco Bozzo, who scored one goal each. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Christian Dedonato, who had two, Max Routledge, who had three, and Jonathan Colley, Nicholas Favaro, and Todd Winder, who contributed one each.

The Chargers kept Newmarket's goalie busy throughout the game, and Dalton Ewing made 33 saves on 35 shots. Mississauga got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Chargers were helped by Daniel DeSousa, who registered one goal. DeSousa scored 13:59 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Newmarket. Steve Mariani picked up the assist. Mississauga also got a goal from Mackenzie OMahony as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Stefano Alonzi, Scott Docherty, and Brandon Yeamans, who each chipped in one.

The Hurricanes incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mississauga incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
