Whitby rips Lindsay, 8-2

The Lindsay Muskies had trouble finding ways to stop the Whitby Fury, which beat Muskies, 8-2.

Lindsay was unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Whitby's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Fury average 3.0 goals per contest. Whitby could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 52 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Muskies were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on 10 chances. Lindsay was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 68 penalty minutes.

The Muskies were led by Brandon Washer, who tallied one goal. Washer scored on the power play 4:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Whitby. Lindsay had gained a power play chance when Rylee McKinnon was whistled for roughing. Cedric Ralph also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Cole Robbins and Adam McPhail, who each chipped in one.

The Fury's Daniel Mannella stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Whitby registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. Boyd Diclemente made 31 saves for the Muskies on 39 shots.
