Oakville outlasts North York, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Oakville Blades escaped with a 3-2 victory over the North York Rangers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Patrick Kudla secured the win for Oakville with a goal in the third period.

Josh Kosack had one goal and two assists to lead the Blades. Kosack scored 12 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Oakville. Jackson Bales picked up the assist.

Oakville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. North York was unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Oakville also got a goal from Drew Worrad as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Ryan Garvey and Christian Rajic, who contributed one each.

The Rangers were helped by Grayden Gottschalk, who racked up one goal. Gottschalk scored 8:29 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Louis Kereakou assisted on the tally. Kyle Clarke also scored for North York. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Jonathan Hampton, Adam Giacomin, and Luke Hincenbergs, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn recorded 22 saves for the Blades. Oakville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Gianluca Baggetta made 31 saves for North York on 34 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
