The Cobourg Cougars almost clawed their way back from a four-goal deficit, but the Kingston Voyageurs managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Kingston led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Voyageurs' Brandon Nadeau scored at 18:19 in the second period to put Kingston up 5-1. Ian Harris was all over the ice for the Voyageurs, as he had two goals in the win. Harris' tallies came at 4:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston and 19:48 into the third to make the score 6-4 Kingston. Kingston forced Cobourg's goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Stefano Durante made 18 stops and Tyler Lewis made 12. Kingston additionally got points from Connor Bebb, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Nadeau, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kingston included Zachary Emelifeonwu and Mason Corliss, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Danny Bosio, Matthew Lourenco, and Reid Russell, who each chipped in one and Josh Hardiman and Anthony Rinaldi, who contributed two each. The Cougars' offense rang up 42 shots on the Voyageurs' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Cobourg was helped by Russell Nowry, who registered one goal. Nowry scored 16:29 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Kingston. Matt Carroll picked up the assist. Cobourg also got points from Carroll, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Cobourg also had goals scored by Matthew Bumstead and Brennan Roy, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cobourg came via Dan Harris, who had one and Rory Milne and Brett Primeau, who contributed two each. David Richer rejected 38 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
