McGlynn leads Oakville to shutout victory over North York

The Oakville Blades used a sparkling performance by Brendan McGlynn to take down the North York Rangers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Oakville's 5-0 shutout victory.

The Blades were paced by Josh Kosack, who had one goal. Kosack scored 5:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Nicholas Alvaro provided the assist.

Oakville forced North York's goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 36 shots and forcing 31 saves. Gianluca Baggetta made 13 stops and Jett Alexander made 18. The Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four North York power plays.

Oakville also got points from Ryan Foss, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Tyler Rollo, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ian Blacker, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Oliver Benwel as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Michael Mannara, Brendan Doherty, Brayden Sampson, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers' offense operated below their season average. North York averages 3.5 goals per game. The Rangers gave up more goals than its normal season average. North York gives up 2.5 goals per game.

McGlynn recorded 27 saves for Oakville. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
