Wellington downs Aurora in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Ben Sokay gave the Wellington Dukes a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Aurora Tigers when he scored 23 seconds into the extra period.

Sokay had two goals to lead Wellington to victory.

The Dukes stifled Aurora's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Shaw Boomhower also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Austin Labelle, who had one and Luc Brown and Colin Doyle, who contributed two each.

The Tigers were helped by Alex Formenton, who registered one goal. Formenton scored 8:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. Evan Kearns assisted on the tally. Aurora also got points from Kearns, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Aurora received assists from Alex Boudreau and Matthew Bernard, who each chipped in one.

Anthony Popovich rejected 26 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Brooks-Potts recorded 26 saves for Aurora. The Tigers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
