Georgetown holds on for 3-2 win against Pickering

The Pickering Panthers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Georgetown Raiders held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Jack Jacome put Georgetown up 3-1 in the third period, but Pickering pulled to within one on Davis Kuksis's tally 12:41 into the third period.

The Raiders were sparked by Jacome, who finished with one goal and one assist. Jacome scored 5:36 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Jordan Crocker picked up the assist.

Georgetown found itself short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Georgetown additionally got points from Josh Dickinson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Georgetown also got a goal from Brendan Jacome as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Arran MacDonald and Daniel Hardie, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Pickering eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Panthers were helped by Andrew Hughes, who racked up one goal. Hughes scored on the power play 15:14 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Pickering had gotten the advantage when Georgetown's Wyatt Hicken was sent off for tripping. Kuksis assisted on the tally. Pickering also got points from Kuksis, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Pickering came via Mackenzie Heber, who had one and Chris Sekelyk, who had two.

Billy Day rejected 32 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Mathew Woroniuk made 21 saves for the Panthers on 24 shots. Pickering incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
