Oakville beats Toronto Patriots 8-3 as Reeves gets hat trick

A hat trick by Peyton Reeves was the highlight in Blades' 8-3 win against the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

Reeves' first goal came 6:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:07 into the second and at 16:12 into the third.

In a losing effort, Toronto Patriots was led by Cole Purboo, who registered two goals. Purboo scored the first of his two goals at 6:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael Siddall assisted on the tally. Purboo's next tally made the score 3-2 Oakville with 6:32 left in the first period. Tyler Currie picked up the assist.

The Oakville Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Toronto Patriots power plays. Oakville bested its season scoring average. The Blades average 4.3 goals per game.

Oakville additionally got points from Tyler Rollo, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Christian Rajic, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Brayden Sampson, Josh Kosack, and Eric Holland, who each put in one. More assists for Oakville came via Brendan Doherty, Ryan Foss, Oliver Benwel, Bryce Misley, Jackson Bales, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one and Patrick Kudla, Daniel Jelic, and Drew Worrad, who contributed two each.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Connor Beck as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Andrew Green and Nick Stuckless, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn recorded 25 saves for Oakville. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jacob Standen took the loss and made 19 saves before being replaced by Sean OReilly who made two saves. The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
