Lewis stymies Milton, Cobourg wins 5-1

The Cobourg Cougars relied on the sparkling performance of Tyler Lewis in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Milton Icehawks.

Cobourg was led by Ryan OGrady, who finished with one goal and one assist. OGrady scored on the power play 8:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cobourg. The Cougars had taken the advantage when Milton's Artem Suyargulov got sent off for goalie interference. Brennan Roy picked up the assist.

Cobourg excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Cougars forced the Icehawks goalie Marcus Semiao to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Cobourg also got points from Rory Milne, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cobourg included Connor Inger, Matt Carroll, and Theo Lewis, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cobourg came via Matt Watson, who had two and Matthew Bumstead, Sam Dunn, Josh Argier, Brenden Locke, and Kallen McFarland, who contributed one each.

Milton kept Cobourg's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lewis made 32 saves on 33 shots.

The Icehawks were led by Joseph Keenan, who scored the team's only goal. Keenan scored 4:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brett Markham assisted on the tally.

The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Semiao recorded 43 saves for Milton. The Icehawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
